Overrated

Tonight is the Star Awards show.

The nominees this year are mostly The Little Nyonya serial actors/actress. Personally, i feel the show was overrated and the reason it was so successful because many people are attracted to the history of Peranakans & their culture. Therefore, it became some sort of lucrative business that it spawned "branches" of peranakan variety shows and even musical.

The acting in the show is just lukewarm in my view and the show that truly deserves the Best Drama Serial is Perfect Cut. The script was excellent and the showcased emotions was real and you can feel the characters pain and stress. The show maybe the best performance by the casting. It was the best drama i had seen in recent years.

I will be surprised if Perfect Cut did not win the Best Drama award.
